When you say “dentist” it conjures up an image for most people, and sadly not always happy feelings. So what I try to say to people is that I am here to help people with their health, appearance and also confidence.
Increasing evidence linking poor oral health with poor cardiac health means that now we know more than ever the importance of dental health. In our business and personal lives our dental appearance says something about us. It can’t be right to be self conscious about something that could be easily remedied.
It seems hard to believe that I have been in family practice for about 20 years, because I still enjoy doing what I do. I now have the pleasure of seeing some of the young people I have been looking after grow into young adults and off to university or out into the big wide world. Most of them, I am pleased to say with very healthy smiles.
My new practice is in Edgware and is state of the art. I have always been happy to embrace new technology, not just for its own sake, but where it can improve the experience of the patient, and is right to use alongside older proven technologies. We have, for instance, a device that enables us to give what is generally considered to be the most pain free injection possible.
Prevention is at the centre of everything we do: hygienist services, regular checks and screenings are vital.
