Pink Breakfast
BNI Edgwarebury took part in Breast Cancer Care Awareness Pink Day on Friday 27th October.
Many members took part by wearing an item of pink clothing, which certainly injected a lot of humour into the breakfast meeting.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) was introduced as a worldwide campaign in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder to:
- increase awareness of breast cancer
- raise funds for research into the disease
- support people affected by the disease.
Today, the major breast cancer and cancer charities all over the UK continue to champion the cause every October, employing the pink ribbon – now a global symbol of breast cancer awareness.
Members of the chapter donated £56 to the charity.
